About this service
Why Essex builders choose us for access scaffolding
Access scaffolding covers everything that isn't a textbook independent: cantilever lifts over conservatories, bridged scaffolds spanning bay windows, gantried walkways across alleyways, single-lift gutter platforms, and protected access for inspection and survey work.
We start with a free survey, take measurements, photograph constraints, and come back with a drawn solution and a fixed price. No mid-job surprises, no 'we can't reach that bit' on day one.
Listed buildings and conservation areas across Brentwood, Epping and Loughton form a steady part of our access work — we'll discuss tying alternatives, non-marking pads and reduced footprint options before specifying.
What's included as standard
- Cantilever and bridged designs over fragile or restricted areas
- Single-lift inspection scaffolds for gutters, fascias & soffits
- Listed-building friendly tying and protection methods
- Protected pedestrian routes & overhead crash decks
- Surveyor and inspector access platforms (short-hire available)
- Custom drawings included for non-standard designs
Our process
From phone call to strike — how it works
Bespoke access starts with a drawing, not a guess. Our process puts the design step first so the price you see is the price you pay — and the scaffold actually reaches what it needs to reach.
Brief & photos
Send us a photo of the elevation and tell us what needs reaching — gutter, chimney, bay window, alley span.
Detailed survey
Senior scaffolder visits, measures spans, photographs constraints and identifies the safest tie strategy.
Drawn solution
We come back with a sketch (and a stamped drawing for non-standard configs) plus a fixed price.
Build to the drawing
Crew arrives with the right tube, beams and fittings already counted — no return trips to the yard mid-build.
Inspection & handover
Drawing referenced on the Scaftag. Handover certificate includes the design notes for your file.
Strike to drawing
Dismantled in reverse sequence to protect what was protected on the way up. Materials loaded out cleanly.
Safety & compliance
Safety first, every job
Bespoke access scaffolds are the ones that get inspected hardest — usually because they bridge over something fragile or expensive. Ours are designed to be loaded, not just looked at.
Standards we work to
- Engineer-checked design on every cantilever or bridge
- Crash decks over conservatories, glazed roofs and porches
- Tying to historic fabric using gripple / wire methods
- Beams sized to the calculated load, not rule-of-thumb
- CISRS Advanced scaffolders on every bespoke build
- £10m PL plus design professional indemnity cover
- Scaftag references the design drawing on file
- Inspector-friendly handover pack with drawing & RAMS
Pricing
What affects the price of access scaffolding?
Bespoke access pricing depends on the design, not the postcode. The drawing tells us exactly how much steel, board and labour the job takes — so we quote with confidence and never adjust mid-build.

FAQs
Access Scaffolding questions, answered
Do you handle scaffolds for listed or conservation-area properties?
Yes — we have methods for tying without permanent fixings and protecting historic fabric.
Can you bridge over a conservatory or extension?
Yes. Bridged scaffolds are one of the most common access solutions we provide.
How quickly can you survey?
Most surveys happen within 24–48 hours of enquiry, with a quote returned the same day.
